Each 501(c)3 organization on LIVEGIVEmidsouth creates its listing by building a nonprofit profile. The nonprofit organization is responsible for providing all its information.

  1. The first step in building a profile is choosing a profile manager. This representative from your nonprofit is responsible for completing the required fields to have a profile published and for maintaining it annually.
  2. Once the profile manager creates an account, they will log in and begin completing the profile, providing information about your organization's management, board of directors, programs, financials, and contact information. 
  3. We strongly recommend that profile managers attend a How to Build a Profile session before creating a profile. Click the PROFILE HELP SESSIONS tab to find a session that works for your schedule.

In an abundance of caution and in order to adhere to social distancing recommendations, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis has closed the Gid H. Smith Community Room until further notice. In alignment, all LIVEGIVEmidsouth in person sessions will be hosted online.

LIVEGIVEmidsouth offers group and individual help sessions to help organizations build and maintain a nonprofit profile.

How to Build a Profile Session: This help session is an introduction to the LIVEGIVEmidsouth.  We cover how different organizations and funders use the LIVEGIVEmidsouth system, how to complete a profile, resources for completing a profile, and how to maintain it annually.

What is LIVEGIVEmidsouth?

LIVEGIVEmidsouth is a free, online community information system and an initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis. The site houses 180+ indicators from public data sources (such as American Communities Survey, Shelby County Health Department, and Tennessee Department of Education) and a directory of nonprofit organizations working in our region. 

Does LIVEGIVEmidsouth endorse organizations?

LIVEGIVEmidsouth does NOT endorse organizations. Our "reviewed" check mark denotes that the organization has given us basic information about the organization and is compliant with IRS requirements of  tax-exempt 501(c)3 organizations.

Who should be my organization's profile manager?

Your profile manager can be anyone from your organization—development officer, board chair, executive director, or someone from the marketing team. A good profile manager will have computer access, be familiar with your organization's programs, have access to financial and management documents, and be responsive to emails. 

How do I get a donation button on my profile?

In order to have a donation button on your profile, your organization must upload a solicitation permit under the Documents section of the profile AND activate your Stripe account. 

What is Stripe?

Stripe is an online payment processor. In order to accept donations through your LIVEGIVEmidsouth profile, you must create Stripe account or connect to your existing account. Stripe's payment processor deposits donations to your bank account. 

How much are fees associated with donations?

Stripe's rate is .29% + $.30/per transaction. LIVEGIVEmidsouth and the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis do not charge any additional fees. 

I completed all the fields required in my profile. Why can I not find it on the site?

Once your organization has submitted your profile for review, it can take up to four business days for our staff to review your submission and publish it to the directory. If you have questions about your profile status, please email Olivia Wilmot or call her at (901) 722-0028.
